deaf performance at UWM

The disparate worlds of Deaf performance and opera come together for
this world premiere. Across A Distance is a multimedia, bilingual (English
and American Sign Language) performance piece that tells the story of two
people, two islands, and the path to their connection. Join them as
they discover what happens when the magical first blush of love gives way
to the challenges of uniting two different lives and realities.

Hand-N-Hand Playgroups
Mondays, October 4 – December 13, 2010 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
411 St. John Street, Green Bay
This program is for children ages birth to five who are deaf and hard of hearing and their families. Hand-N-Hand promotes language, early literacy, and social and emotional development as well as provides information and resources about hearing loss.

Intermediate Sign Language Class
October – December 2010 Day & Time: TBD
$25.00 per adult. Registration is due by September 27, 2010

This American Sign Language class will build upon and strengthen communication skills with individuals who use ASL.

WAD Joins Walk4Hearing!

ASL Workshop

ASL workshop on Saturday March 27, 2010: “How to Visualize Classifiers and Spatial Features in ASL” presented by Alisha Bronk.
Workshop will be held at the Wheaton Franciscan Hospital in the St. Joseph Room, 10101 S 27th Street, Franklin, WI.
Cost is $65.00, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Students receive a discounted rate of $50.00.
This workshop will be presented in ASL only and is perfect for students, interpreters, and teachers of ASL. Everyone is welcome.
